Messy Clean vs. Tidy Dirty

I've been having an ongoing debate and argument with my wife because we have vastly different styles of cleanliness vs. tidiness when it comes to our clothes at home.

After she wears anything once, it gets draped on our couch, chair, floor or bedside table as she doesn't want to put them away (rehang it or fold it) as it will get her clean clothes "dirty" yet they aren't dirty enough to launder yet.

I'm the opposite, I need to fold or hang my clothes back as long as they are relatively "clean" (i.e. business shirt worn only once on a cool day) else it goes into the hamper.

Because of this, we've had to put drawers and closet doors on everything (no open closet or shelves) so she can hide her mess when guests come over. What style are you?

a constant battle in my house too - although my wife would suggest I would fall into a new 'messy dirty' category...

How do you know what's clean and what's dirty if its tidied up? :)

Well to be honest, I'm not THAT tidy either, but I do keep a drawer I can stuff everything in to that's been worn

I'm really pretty neat. Except for shoes. They get stored all over the house. DH, on the other hand, seems neat until you see the pile next to his side of the bed.

I'd love to see a discussion of 'drop zones' sometime. Mine is just my purse which hangs on a door. DH's is the whole kitchen. We will not however mention my office....

I'm an other; I rarely wear something twice without washing it.
