Beautiful room. Beautiful color, floor, windows. Are u starting from scratch, or do you have any furniture at all.

Sectional and one chair or one sofa and two chairs would work. Replace the fan with a modern chandy to set the tone you want. Huge area rug to anchor the seating.

I'm starting from scratch so that's why it's so overwhelming but I don't know if I should keep the color or should I change it

Do not worry about the wall color, first go get some furniture you love and if you need help with that just send a detailed floor plan and we will all wade in. I would go with an L shaped sectional , a big coffee table, a new modern fan and then some lighting. to begin

Raise the curtain rods! It will make the room look bigger. Good Luck!

Start by updating the ceiling fan to something more transitional, and go with blinds ( no curtains). Furniture should have clean lines, glass coffee table. Pictures of your current furniture and carpet would help.

This room is great. I like the crown molding, wood floors and fireplace. It all looks in good shape. You may want to update the paint with something more neutral depending on your color palette. Houzzers will help you with that. Have fun with this. How exciting to be moving into a new place.

Like motupeg said, the room has great neutral bones...a nice fireplace, beautiful dark floors, etc. For now, I'd leave the drapes because they are white and will go with anything. I'd also not replace the ceiling fan right away. Decide if you even need a fan, which may take a couple of seasons. If you don't use it, have it replaced with a light fixture, like a drum chandelier. You can also update the fan with a new light kit or even replacement glass shades. I like to be able to change my colors and decor, so I've learned to purchase large items (sofas, sectionals) in a neutral solid tan, cream, or gray. (After some expensive wedgewood blue brocade and hunter green leather mistakes of the 80s and 90s!) Buy a large area rug in a style you like with several color options. Then go to town with accent pillows and your favorite artwork. P.S. If you hang a triptych like these owners, put the pieces together and lower. Good luck and have fun!
