Tiny, Narrow Formal Area.

How would I place furniture in this small-narrow area? I would like the fireplace to be the focus. What type of seating? I love a clean contemporary look, but we have inherited a traditional curio cabinet with beautiful pieces I'd like to incorporate. I love the idea of drapes on the windows. Thanks!'

Place a sofa on the long wall, an area rug, and two smaller scale upholstered chairs facing the fireplace. This will keep the walkway open. Can't tell how tall your curio cabinet is to know if it can fit on the wall by the stairs.

The curio is over 6 feet tall. Should I put something over the fireplace?

Use it for dining and find a better space for sitting.
