I really want the look of a vintage fireplace!
June 23, 2014 in Design Dilemma
Does anyone have any advice on how to retro fit a vintage cast iron type fireplace surround with a gas insert? I can't have a woodburning fireplace and have been told the only way to get a fireplace that would look original to the house, a 1920's bungalow, is to put in a reproduction gas fireplace (which I'm afraid will look "cheesy"), or put in an actual vintage surround but it would just have to be fake.
