I'm so sorry-- I must have pressed submit midsentence :) What I meant to ask is where the glassware is stored (beyond the pieces visible on the far right shelf) . I'm especially curious since you're in LA so interested to know how much (if at all) earthquakes play into your design approach.

The everyday glasses and coffee cups (not special) are within the open shelf to the right side of the range. However, the stemware and special glasses are all stored in a closed cabinet within the dining room (as seen in the other Kitchen image - metal cabinet on the right). The everyday dishes and bowls are stored there as well. As far as design with respect to earthquakes, structurally, the buildings are engineered and built for this type of movement however, we do make special provisions for storage of items like discussed above within closeable cabinetry or furniture. With that said, if there is a large scale seismic event, the dishes are the last thing I would be worried about.
