Furniture Placement Help -- Thank You

We are building a new house and I need help with furniture placement in my living room. It has a dual side fireplace on the right side of room (with two openings to kitchen) and I was thinking of putting built-ins on the opposite wall (left) with the TV. I do not know the best placement for furniture. It must at least include a recliner for my husband. Should I do built-ins? Where would you place TV? Where would you place furniture and how would you group to allow walk thru to the kitchen? Any help is appreciated... and if you want to help more on other parts of the house, I welcome your input!

What a beautiful room, I absolutely love the dual fireplace and dual entries into the kitchen! Is the kitchen raised a level from the great room? A step-up would be amazing too! I would have two recliners with the backs facing the window wall and a sofa facing the recliners. Just to give you an idea of placement...here it is. Cheers, Sheila

Sheila, no the kitchen is same level. Should I do a whole wall of built-ins or just partial? Or should I just do a entertainment center for my hubby's beloved TV. I am making the formal dinning room the formal den for when people stop by. Since our kitchen is 17x20 with large island and will have a large farm table for dinning. I am not into formal settings so I think it will still look chic.

The drawing depicts a traditional formal style but the decor does not have to be formal. It really depends on what you and your hubby like? With or without built ins, the room will look amazing as long as you have character on the wall to give it visual interest. It can be modern style or you can have built ins that are very chic too, and it doesn't have to be traditional. Here are two samples.
