Whoops - first two pics are w/ window. Second two are corner cabinet that we are leaning against.....and I believe the 4th is what we really want. Thoughts?

Notice that the Houzz pic has the fridge in close proximity to the sink with a nice surface between them. This allows for easy offloading of foods to be prepped. I wouldn't want the cook top next to the sink but additional work surface. You might move the sink or cook top to the island. I don't care for cooking near a window - constant cleaning of splatters and grease. I think the microwave is too high on the wall to be convenient, especially if children and teens use it. Might put it in the island - easy to remove items and set them on the counter.

I do think the 2 windows flanking the stove would work well and look great for you. Spices and sauces can be located to drawers by the stove. You can find a lot of examples of that layout on houzz (search "range between windows" or similar) that works for any style.

I agree the window in the corner looks wonky. What are your priorities here?

Do you just need more light? Recessed lighting will help (in addition to decorative lighting and make the space look larger). This would also keep the extra storage around the range.

Want more natural light? What's obstructing the light coming in from the one side? Will windows flanking the range bring in enough light to offset the loss of storage? How big of windows do you really need around the range?
