Modern mudroom storage attractive enough for dining room

We live in a small home with an open first floor floor plan. We only have one small storage closet near the front door for a family of four (with two young children). However, we tend to use our back door to enter our home which opens directly into the kitchen. The only area where we can possibly add some storage, because we have so many windows, is the wall opposite our dining room. Does anyone have any suggestions for an armoire or storage solution for coats, umbrellas, shoes and accessories to organize (and conceal) our frequently used items especially during the winter months when the number of clothing items multiply? These are the constraints: It cannot be much deeper than 11 inches because this wall also is a hallway access from our kitchen downstairs into our basement play room area (which is now blocked by a childproofing safety gate). We believe that the unit either has to look unobtrusive or artfully modern. At the moment, everything ends up on the floor in the kitchen. Any suggestions of companies to research or furniture sources for an armoire would be greatly appreciated! I believe a design firm will find this project way too small to take on for something custom built. Help!
