Hello! This room is actually quite small ... about 8' wide x 12' deep. We tried design schemes with the bunks along a side wall, but it just made the room seem too tight; thus, the idea to place bunks on the far/outside wall. To make such a small room seem a bit larger, we decided to also demo the entire closet to the right, which was originally plaster/framing, with 24" wide hinge-door. The closet built-in played a big role in the perceived size and overall character of the room. Shared details bring harmony to the overall design. Thanks for your question.
