Need to know how to prep concrete floor for floating laminate flooring
jackiedentonJuly 14, 2014
So … we removed the tile from our concrete slab floor and there's some leftover mortar and I'm wondering if I need to grind it down (some of it is 'ribbed') or if I can just install the underlayment and laminate without any floor prep work. Not sure if the photos show the detail of the leftover mortar. Thanks!

You definitely need to smooth down the mortar before laying the underlay and laminate.

I used this subfloor product called barricade. It's used in Canada and has an insulation factor.
