Engineered wood floor - best for the money?

Can someone advise which engineered wood floors are the best but most reasonable....
I have 1700 sq ft to do. My preference would be a grayish color rather than dark brown.
Please help.

Don't buy cheap hardwood flooring from a big box store like Lumber Liquidators, Home Depot or Lowes as their wood isn't dried properly so the floor cups and pops up within a few months of being laid.

Check out mohawkflooring.com for high quality flooring.

We are producing all of our engineered flooring here in the United States to ensure high quality. Both American White Oak and imported European Oak would look great with those finishes. Let me know if you have any questions. joel@oakandbroad.com

I am making the same decision with our new home, approx. 1900sq ft. I am strongly considering the Alta Vista collection by Hallmark Hardwoods. I particularly like the lightest grayish one (Laguna?). It looks weathered which is good for dogs and it being a vacation home on the coast of Maine.

The 3/4" 3.25" white oak flooring we bought last winter was around $7 sq ft. We haven't gotten it laid yet as my husband was injuried on the job, and hasn't been able to do it yet.

I just ordered the Lauzon series name: nextstep micro-V red oak 5-3/16 IN product name: Red Oak Illusion SKU: RO05M8T75V. It's dark no red or brown it's like blackish grey. Lauzon has many colors and it is a really good brand. It comes from Canada. $7.25 sq ft. You don't have to go really expensive like the mirage brand but don't be too cheap or your floor will look it. The floor is important on the overall look of the room.

Hayley I want an "unlike" button for your post. I'm very sorry to hear about your husbands accident and wish him a speedy recovery.
Maggie makes a great point, cheap flooring always looks cheap.

The Alta Vista engineered wood was $7.02/sq ft. The clerk said he could give me a better price. The store is in Woolwich, ME.
