I need a bathroom vanity with a shallow depth

I have a space allowing for only 18 inches in depth but for 30-36 inches in width so I'd like some significant counter space in a black vanity. I love many xylem styles but can't seem to find the magic formula for googling choices without having to sift through hundreds of vanities that are not shallow depth. I found one site - Uniquevanities.com but nothing more. Any suggestions?

You might have moor luck if you look for a wall hung vanity.

I would find a local woodworker/cabinet maker. He should be able to design/build exactly what you're looking for, and cost might be reasonable... especially if you consider your time, tax, delivery costs. I do this kind of thing all the time, and it works out well.

Hi Margareta, sounds like you've been doing some digging. This website, Tradewinds Imports.com is another website that carries designer vanities. Not sure if you've used their Shop By Size function but it allows you to browse vanities by specific dimensions.

Here are some that I found that are 30-36 inches with a depth of 18 inches.

You're only other option would be to go the semi-custom route and have it made by a local cabinet maker, although it can involve significantly higher costs. More on that here:

I have a small powder room, and it had a deep vanity that made getting in , through the door, just too "tight".
My cabinet maker friend built a 31" wide, 18" deep cabinet (copying some of the same details in the kitchen). I added a tiny Kohler sink and had to place the faucet a bit to the side. I painted it black, and it is gorgeous!!

That looks great Rosie!

@Margaretawright Before I left some suggestions but I found a few more. Here's some shallow vanities with depth ranging between 8-18".

These dimensions are not quite as common so your options may be limited. You can also consider a corner sink, pedestal sink, or a wall mounted unit. If that doesn't work, you may have to go the semi-custom route like Rosie did. You should be able to find a local cabinet maker that can do this for you or I'm sure somebody will chime in after me. Good luck!
