This view is from living room into dining, through existing arch. Blue tape marks new door. How to trim that far wall? Complementary arch and pillars, or just crown? Will have soft yellow damask paper.

I would keep it simple with just crown.

I agree with Deb the arch is the focal pt don't fight it - match adjacent door casing
That archway is beautiful and in good shape

I agree with the crown nut would add a second molding with one inch space below crown all painted white it will look like a 10 inch crown very rich less money!
