Laundry room woes
JoleneAugust 2, 2014
I have had this color called Golden Gate by Dunn Edwards in the laundry room for 7 years. I used a left over color and I have been thinking to go to Healing aloe or Palladian blue or like color from Benjamin moore. I have revere pewter and other neutrals. Looking to brighten up this small space. Just wondering if it will make a big difference. Any thoughts?

I think a soft blue will be brighter and calmer, but to really make it feel like a new room, also consider adding some floating shelves and some baskets over the counter near the sink, brushed silver knobs on the cupboards and drawers, a little hemp rug and maybe a great fixture in the ceiling. There is a window over sink no room for shelves, although I would live them if I had room.

If you like it and it makes you happy then it will definitely make a difference! Lets face it nobody likes to do laundry but if you have a beautiful and functional laundry room, and you do, and it's painted in a color you love, well then what's left to say but get out the brush!

Lol Gina! Love that idea! Hoping the granite is good with a different color. Love my son'a art work with the wood zig zag on the back. It makes me happy, the over all color is a little dark

I like the Healing Aloe. Consider Quiet Moments too. Here is a nice little chart lifted from Pinterest that shows some of your options.

My idea was to add the shelving on wall next to sink. The picture shows over, but it was just to give you a feel of the look. A stripped blue/white indoor/outdoor rug may look nice.[houzz=Area Rugs We Sell]; [houzz=Indoor/Outdoor Blue Chevron Rug (1'8 x 3'7)]

I would be open to wall paper if it will stand up to a all room with moisture ) although we have new fans that work amazing at sucking up moisture!

Wallpaper may be tricky with your counter unless it is very plain and then, you might as well paint. My suggestion would be to paint and use accessories for more impact.

Maureen I think I agree. It is a very small space... And a pass through from the garage. I don't have any decoration but what is there due to this. The washer and dryer take up a huge amount of it and I was just looking to brighten it up but still have a color that goes with the granite

For good advice you must post a picture with the whole dog!

Wall where the tack board is you could paint with chalk board paint that also has a metalic component, so you can leave notes in chalk and also use magnets for notes. Floating shelf next to sink and add a basket or two. Carpet and maybe a new light fixture...just some ideas to help. After seeing your two beautiful dogs, skip the light blue/white carpet idea!

AW!!! Too cute for words.

Do you recall what a pain it was to paint the laundry room? Laundry rooms and bathrooms, followed by kitchens are the worst!

I had a similar nice neutral laundry room that I grew tired of. I recently painted the back wall a lovely blue and put decals resembling soap bubbles all over it. Love it now, it's so fun!

Very cute! Nice to see a rod hanging also. Searching shelves, but just not sure I want to give up my rod that is there. I can move the art but not sure about the rod, although I love the shelve option.
