Can you tell me what time it is in this type of building?

I have often seen the presence of buildings like the image below in the movies ... with high floor and a stairway outdoors. I think it is an old type of condominium.

I find them very old, very traditional.
So I want to know what time (year) this kind of house illustrate or "keyword" with which I can get them on the Internet.

All answers are appreciated :)
Thank you so much!

This looks like a typical "brownstone" row house. They were built in the late 19th century and early 20th century in cities along the East Coast. There were many built in neighborhoods in Brooklyn, New York such as Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights. They can be found in Philadelphia and Boston. The stone that was used is a brown sandstone that was mined in Pennsylvania.

Originally they were single family homes with maids quarters on the lower level, often with a basement below that level. The family lived on the three levels above which were entered by the main stairway from the street. These levels included living room and kitchen and then two floors of bedrooms above.

Today many of these Brownstones have been modified with an apartment on each level.

The remaining Brownstones are highly coveted and are very expensive to purchase.
Neighborhoods like Park Slope have become very prestigious and expensive.

Thank you a lot, I know more clearly now.
I wonder if there is a lot or not these buildings in the United State now?

It is a symbol of the building of the United States but how about in Europe? There is this kind of house in Europe?

Thanks to you, I understand more clearly but why the structure of this building is like that? For any reason, characteristic or function of that time they should contruire buildings like this?
And why neighborhoods like Park Slope is expensive now?
