Do all curtains in a room need to match?

I have a very large family room. There are two windows in the front and French Doors in the back. I want to put curtains on the French Doors. Will it look right if they don't match the front Windows? They are on opposite ends of the room.

It could work if the back is designed differently.

Does the word curtain mean sheers that are traditionally on French doors? If so, you could put the same sheers on the windows with drapes over them. Remember tho, there are no Design Police! I believe Victorian homes, for example, had different treatments on smaller windows than the larger draped windows. Clashing fabrics might make the room feel uncomfortable. Assuming they coordinate with the rest of the room & each other, it sounds like a good idea to me. I prefer clever & interesting thinking out of the box!
