We are just starting to build our new house, and the flooring is killing me! Regarding the entry, dining room, kitchen, sunroom and family room, where I can I change flooring materials? The sunroom will be black and white checkerboard tile, which I would love for the kitchen, too, but I think it would be odd to have that in the dining room. The family room will be hardwood. Ideally, I would like stone in the entry and mud room, but it seems like too many different floors. Should it all be continuous hardwood, minus the sunroom? This is a very casual house on a lake, and we have 4 kids and 2 dogs. Lots of mud, dirt and leaves will hit these floors! Thank you in advance!
