laminate direction

Will be installing new laminate flooring soon and installer says that the direction should run verticle when entering the front door...I always thought (and seen) flooring running horizontal when you open the front door...How do you decide?

You can probably do it either way depending on the subfloor, but that could be why your installer is telling you it should be in a specific direction. If that's not the reason, then it's personal preference and you should be able to decide what you want. If you have a narrow hallway and you go parallel to it, then it will feel narrower and longer, so that can be a good case for changing the direction to perpendicular to the long direction.

Hi, for what it's worth, I've only seen it running vertical from entryway.
