HOW TO FINISH MY KITCHEN WINDOW - WOOD OR TILE

harris101August 21, 2014
Not sure that I put my advice question in the right place so doing it again. There were many "uh oh" moments with my kitchen reno. The picture is of my window which has many unfinished uneven sides that we need to trim. Problem is that the bullnose that matches this tile is only 2" and the top of the window space is 2 1/4" Do we have wood notched or do we try to do something with tile. This has been unfinished for a year now and we need help. Appreciate it.

Look for some similar kitchen windows in Houzz photos. Pick the approach that looks good to you. A good finished look would be to add wood trim pieces and paint to match the window trim.

I'd trim it out with wood.

Add another vote for wood. And it's too late for you, but for people looking to do something like this in the future, put casing around the window first and then run the tile to the casing. This is going to be a tricky trim job.

We would have done the tile first before the cabinets but that is not the order that happened - many things happened in the wrong order - I am glad that this is the last thing - just hope this contractor can do a good job - Thanks for all the advice!
