I am wondering if anyone could help me choose paint colors for my Colonial home in Tn? The shingles are in the brown family. I chose the colors currently on the house from a paint chip 8 years ago and I have hated it ever since. Thanks for any imput!

I just looked up this color and it's beautiful. I am just terrified of such a huge commitment. With the trim being so dark now, the painters said anything light would need to be applied X3. Estimate of $16,000 to paint including supplies. Any more suggestions to improve the curb appeal?

Suggest your painters use a quality paint. I've covered a similar color with Sherwin Williams Duration in Extra White with a single coat.

Picture is Dunn Edwards Artichoke. I'll suggest a dark shutter and light trim.

Just about any color will work but white or gray is classic. What are your favorite colors?

My fav color is green. Our home is surrounded by trees on a 3 acre lot. The siding is cedar. The front of the house faces the East. I wish a color specialist could look at my rural home and tell me the perfect color of green, blue, or brown to choose from:) Wishful thinking.

first advice is to get bids from some other painters. And always ask for referrals from work they did 3-4 years ago. Everyone is happy at first but it takes a while to find out if you got a good job or not. They are right about white. However you house desperately needs a light trim color. If you go dark on the body you will get the easiest coverage. Then paint the trim a light tan or similar so you get better coverage over the dark trim. Your eye will see the tan as an off white- it's a light visual slight of hand that saves you money.

Anonomous by SW is the body color we chose with Dovey White as trim paint with black shutters. I love it! The main color looks gray, brown, and green in different light. We are absolutely thrilled! Thanks for all feedback!
