I seem to have a lot of coffee cups and storage is never ideal. How do you store YOUR coffee cups and mugs?

Why do we accumulate so many, usually mismatched, coffee cups. It took me a while but I finally figured out that I really only need four. If I do need more another six or so are up on a top shelf and can be accessed readily. And now they match, which saves a lot of shelf space.

Guilty as charged adivra. We have many mismatched coffee mugs. Coffee mug gifts, etc. Hawaii mugs, Area 51 mug, Over the Hill Mug, NYPD, Rt 66, Starbucks, etc. I could go on!

I too had many mismatched coffee cups. About a year ago I got rid of all of them in a yard sale. Now I have 18 white ones all the same. I store them alternating up and down and they fit very nicely in a cupboard above the coffee pot. I like when I open the door the cups are nicely arranged rather than here and there just to keep them all in one spot like it was with the mismatched.

I use only mugs and don't even own cups. The newest matching mugs are on an open shelf under the coffee and tea. A few old mismatched and vendor mugs are in a cupboard.

Mine are stored like the ones above and in other areas may hang them. However, I like them to be in different colours, some with quotes on them, some from around the world such as from the UK, USA, Thailand, Japan, etc. . Having different mugs on display looks homely.

Maybe a bit odd but we have precisely one coffee cup (and it's on a shelf. It would be quite lonely hanging all by itself). My husband puts his coffee in a travel mug and I don't touch coffee. When I drink the occasional green tea it's there for me! I think the others were broken over time and because we haven't had the need they were just never replaced. I should probably invest in some coffee cups!

Open Concepts shelving is so functional and current, however, staging of your glasswear is necessary. It is the very best means to stay organized and not to over stock cups (which I prefer to stack in doubles, as it really ads to the visual effect), glasses & dishes. Here are some of my examples of my designs.

I bought those shelf organizers to expand the amount of usable shelf space. Those work well. We also have glass-front shelves. In those, I put mostly glass and crystal items.

For some reason my husband must have a mug that reminds of something. So his "memory mugs" are on one side of the shelf, and my mugs that match the rest of the dinnerware is on the other side. Sometimes one of us crosses over. LOL

In a drawer. I had the drawer made deep enough to accommodate the tallest mug/ cup. The drawer underneath this holds all the coffees, teas, filters, etc. Both drawers are right under the counter where the coffee pot sits. There is a small sink immediately to the right, which also has a hot water dispenser.

Open shelves since it's easier to grab and put away the cups/mugs. #BeSeenBeSafe

Shelves and a free standing tree on my coffee counter that holds 15. I love that my guests will grab one if it's in sight and my keurig is right there too so they are right at home
