Wanting ideas for the wall going up the stairs. I have shelves you see before this wall and I am trying to come up with something attractive that won't clash.

The mirrors appear to be an interesting idea although they look to be quite close to the stair rail. Could be an "ouch" waiting to happen;-)
Another idea in keeping with the shelves on the opposite side to the stair wall might be empty frames as seen in the ref pic.
the frames in this pic are large but you could scale down to appropriate size.

I just recently (temporarily) added those mirrors. Nothing permanent

First remove all items from unit. Not needed looks cluttered. Then remove those mirrors and wallpaper whole wall. All paint stores have wallpaper books you can check out to see in your light. Grass cloth would also work. Not sure of your style and colors in room. So all that would tie in. Then place nothing on that area.

Thanks for idea. I don't have a way to wallpaper.
But I like your suggestion!

What about painting the white woodwork a color or the same as the living room walls?

What do you mean you can't wallpaper. Is this a rental. Or are saying you don't know how?

Too expensive for me now. I am a senior citizen on a fixed
income and several medical ( surgical) to still pay for.

HI -- Linda - the wall looks fine the way you have it now . I don't care for cluttering up stairwell walls . With the shelves on the other side ,it is going to look too busy and get cluttered .

Just take down the mirrors. What if you fell and broke one of those mirrors and got cut?

Hi Linda, I think you should leave the wall empty as a backdrop for the shelving. The shelves need objects that can be viewed from any angle (like a vase) rather than one-sided like a photo. I would choose objects that tie in with the colour palette of the room from which you'll view the stairs. I suggest that there's only one, or maybe two objects per cubbyhole and they are large enough to fill about two thirds of the space (vertically as well as horizontally). You non't need to fill all gaps, just three, for example. If you can, I would recommend painting the hand rail to match the woodwork (white/cream).

Thanks for your comments! I was just thinking - what about the. removable wall decals of perhaps a ...winding branch design or
something like that.

Ok, I know money can always be a problem. I would still remove photos, looks strange. And small mirrors. Just look cluttered. There is peel and stick stencils that would work there, not expensive. Go on line or local Home Depot, Lowes. I would go white birch trees, very easy to do. There are many to choose from. Find one you like. Not sure of style of home.

Leave the wall empty. Its a small space and can easily look cluttered/messy
