Window Treatment indecision...

In the LR I have 1 large window, 3 small windows (1 near piano and 2 flanking the fireplace). In the adjoining DR, I have a double window. There are double cell pleated shades (which will eventually be changed). We are thinking of a cocoa wall color, and I have an oriental rug in natural tones that I'm waiting to lay. After I pick a fabric, I will add pillows, artwork, and other color in the room. Do I go with cornices? Do I go with straight panels? Too many rods would not look very good since there are so many windows. A large flatscreen TV will be hung on the fireplace. The style of the home is "farmhouse" with a lovely front porch built in 1939, so I need something traditional. Can anyone help! I have deliberated over this room for over a year.
