Is it a good choice for a southern exposure porch in TN? I am not fond of Trex as it fades, stains and warps. IPE seems a bit too red and I wonder how long it takes to gray.
Is cedar left unstained? Will it last?

Cedar is rot and insect resistant....America was built with cedar; north and south since the colonies....
I like opaque stain for exterior wood...it looks like paint but lets the wood breath .... Paint encapsulates the wood and gets pushed off by the water trying to evaporate......
