To put a divider between the living and dining room or not?

Hi! I would like to seek for your advice for the following questions:
1) whether to put a divider between the living room and the dining room or not?
2) im thinking of mounting the TV in the stair/ exterior wall of the stairs, is it a good idea? Any other ideas on where to put the tv?
3) if the powder room will be put on the opposite side on where it is in the picture, making it like a divider between the living room and the dining room, will it be a good thing or not? What can we do with the space below the stairs?
4) what shape of kitchen is perfect for this small space? U-shaped? L-shaped? With island? Please advice.

By the way, there will be a lanai at the back of the house.

9 years agoIt's hard to tell how much space you actually have. Each square looks like it might be about 2 sq. ft.
I would never want a bathroom door to open onto a dining room or kitchen. I think you might reconfigure the space and use a pocket door to have it open next to the stair. Then you might get a galley kitchen in with a peninsula between it and the dining area.
