What have you used for baseboard & door trim? I like how sleek it looks.

Generally we use a square-edged 1x material. Usually paint grade wood, but it could be MDF as well. The key is to not have an ornamental edge or even too much of a fillet.

Hi John - Thanks for your response. By "fillet" do you mean thickness of the wood? The baseboards look fairly tall - 5" maybe? We are redoing a tired 50's side split which is actually a great living space once it's opened up! Thanks again. Karen

Karen - by fillet, I mean the rounded edge on the outside of each board. Basically a radius. This particular job does have a taller base 1"x6" but general I like to keep the baseboard more in the range of 1x4 for a more modern aesthetic.
