    Hello! Yes, the countertops are 1 1/4" thick Brazilian Soapstone.

    Thanks for responding! Does your Soapstone have any veins and a green undertone? It seems a green hue is common in Soapstone. Love your whole kitchen!

    Thank you! We appreciate the feedback! The soapstone does have veins in it & there is a slight green tone to it. There are several different variations of soapstone. Some have green in it, others appear to be closer to a charcoal gray.

    Have you found cooking with oil makes any stains on your soapstone countertops?

    When selecting soapstone you should definitely consider how it will age over time. There is potential for scratches, small chips at the edges, and oils will likely leave marks. As part of your regular maintenance, you can oil your soapstone tops. This will help to enhance the color and it will help to hide some of the imperfections that come with use and time.
