This is native Texas Limestone and is not a thin veneer stone.

Wow, really? We are in Texas and have not seen limestone with such variations in the color - it is usually so monochromatic. We have a courtyard that is horrible in a new home and we want to bring in natural elements.

Check with your natural stone supplier. There is a natural range of color variations available that deviates from the monochromatic look you are referring to.
