Replacing Kitchen Table with Island and Bar Stools

We recently moved from a 2700sq ft house in Arizona to a 1600sq ft home in Alaska. We down sized to help with heating costs but it doesn't help when it comes to storage in the kitchen. I feel like I have no room for anything. I had a thought about just replacing my kitchen table with an island that offered a few more cabinets for storage. What are your thoughts on this? Good idea or bad?

It depends on your lifestyle, I think. It sounds like a winning idea to me. Especially if you have a regular dining room in addition to the kitchen table, in case you have guests for dinner.
