Help with reclaimed staircase

I am in the process of getting this staircase ready to be installed in my new home. I have sanded, repainted, and distressed the spindles, the treads have been sanded and stained, the risers have been painted; however, I like the current color and wear of the banisters and the newels. Is there something I should do to them? conditioning? clear coat? touch up the stain? before installing them.
