We are moving into a rented small apartment and it has an open concept dining room and living room. The walls will be white (with options to paint) with medium hardwood flooring. We were gifted a espresso maple coffee table and a white Ikea Lappland TV unit. Other than that we will be getting all new furniture (couch, accent chair, dining table, and chairs).

I am looking for ideas on color scheme for the rug, couch, curtain and dining set. I would love to have some color but my boyfriend would prefer to keep it somewhat simple. I was thinking just having color in the throw pillow, decor, and paintings while keeping the furniture a neutral color.

If you have any inspiration pictures or ideas for me it would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking on every design website I can think of for the past few weeks with no success. I am just even more confused as ever.
