Love this look! I have an old buffet that belonged to my grandmother that I want to do this to. Did you sand the piece first or primepanit over the existing finish?
becinsc Yes, I did briefly sand it ... I then applied Zinsser primer and painted it Benjamin Moore White Dove, followed by distressing and glazing (with Valspar clear glaze mixed with a little bit of Minwax Dark Walnut Stain). Hope this helps ... and, have fun!

cbronson How did you get the top so dark? Really love this look and plan to do it on my antique buffet as well as my china cabinet.
