Can you suggest a baksplash that will tie together kitchen cabinets that are an off white and trim is cloud w

Faireden How much flash are you up for? Your kitchen looks traditional and it is beautiful by the way. Have you seen the recycled metallic tiles? There are copper (like your pendants) bronze, gold and silver metals. There are small squares, subway tiles, hexagon shapes. And it looks very cool that they are not completely uniform and perfect, some have more sheen then others. They pick up and reflect the other colors used around them, so they look fantastic! If you search here on houzz you will see some great examples. Eco Friendly is one of the company's that carry them. Any pattern would be great but a traditional pattern like the subway tiles would harken to the traditional but in a contemporary way. Any of the colors would look great but I like the idea of the copper on your back-splash - that way carrying the warm tones from the pendant and the counter -top on the island to the other side of the room!

Diann Being a copper lover and the warmth it gives I side with faireden, Love your kitchen really the way it is but if I was to change anything about it then it would be to add the copper. Love your paint color and the stain of your island as well, whats not to love ? I have seen the backslash tiles faireden suggested and with the other metals in it would pick up as well your faucet and pulls and knobs.

michigammemom The style of your cabinets and the material on your countertop will have more to do with backsplash options. For instance, if you have a granite countertop with a lot of color variation and movement, you will want to select a more subdued backsplash. If your counterops are solid with consistent coloration, you can get a little more creative with patterned mosaics.

sharleeg wait.. you are redoing what looks to be a tumbled marble backsplash??? Not sure why. It looks beautiful. One suggestion that comes to my eye immediately though is the height difference between windows and cabs. How about adding a valance of some sort over window to bring it up to crown level. You can add some pattern or a pop of an accent color, however subtle you want here.Yellow and gray look amazing together for example. Best of luck!

michigammemom I am presuming that the pictured room is a houzz photo similar to the poster's situation and not the actual space that pat33 is inquiring about.

Bethany Gunter can you tell me what the backsplash is in this picture as well as the countertop material? It looks like soapstone but I can't tell. I think this kitchen is beautiful and we are in the process of building ours. I would LOVE to know the materials used.

Carolina Design Associates, LLC The backsplash is a 2x4 Calcutta gold marble tile. The countertops are a granite. Some call it Antique Brown and some call it Maroon Cohiba.

lyrics1967 The counter top around the sink is a brown? I thought it was black, different from the island? Are they actually the same counter color and material?
