Which of these 6 attic bedrooms reaches new heights?
Here are 6 of the fantastic attic bedrooms recently featured in the Houzz article "Attic Bedrooms Rise and Shine." Which one would you most like to have in your house?
Shannon Ggem ASID- Ggem Design Co LLC Madaket because of the WINDOW SEAT!!!!!!! I love a window seat! But it was SO tough because Repurposed has that great dark wall, those headboards, that seat for the desk! The low table! Amazing! and White Attic is so serene and River Road had that great bed direction. Really nice list. Very inspirational. Thank you!
Jamieson Great spaces, I find it's unfair to solely base my vote by judging from one single picture. After taking a visual tour of all the spaces, and checking out the additional pics. I'm going with Lake House, I'm a sucker for unpainted, exposed beams!
Marie Meko, Allied ASID Madaket modern grabbed my vote! I love the serene feeling I receive from this space and the adjacent bath. Pure vintage with a modern feel....Did that make sense? I feel transported into a time when life was simpler and the breezes cooler.

inkwitch You don't make this easy! There are parts of all of them I love -- Madaket's color and ceiling; Lake House Oriental feel; White Attic's space and height, but I'll have to go with River Road. Such a peaceful, mellow vignette to wake up with a view, and the simplicity is very zen!
Diann My 1st choice was easy loved the colors and look of the Madaket . Has such a comforting look to it love it. 2nd choice is completely different but do love it is 2 level flat. Didn't really care for the rest, they all had bits of things I liked but would not want any of them really.
ruchby White Attic and Madaket don't really qualify to me as attic bedrooms. The challenge of an attic bedroom is making a functional space with a low and steeply sloped ceiling.
peggle #1 is Madaket. Built-ins, trim, angles and color all say attic to me. Spacious and cozy. The all white attics leave me feeling cold. Second choice is 2 level flat. It feels open and intimate at the same time. Even though it has white walls, the wood warms the space and there is color too.
We converted the attic in our bungalow many years ago but there are things I would do differently like adding more stoage/built-ins so many old homes have and adding wider trim to go with the first floor. My current plan now is to have drawers and cabinets built into the space behind the knee walls and eliminate the dressers in our room. I want the drawers extra deep so I can store off season clothes in the back part of the drawers and current season in the front. I'd like to eliminate the boxes and storage bags under the bed. The bathroom... If I could just add a small shed dormer, so mAny problems would be solved.
Robyn I have to agree with feeny. I love them all. If I were forced to pick one, I think re-purposed feels like me and has storage and function. If the bedroom was specifically for me, I'd go 2 level flat or Madaket.
Mona Ives All were great. Choose the last one because it had the most function with the bathroom and window bench showing. I realize some other rooms may have had function that just weren't included in the photos. Love Thom Filicia as a designer.
Christine Steele I had to go with 2 level flat or Madaket as they were the only two that really stood out as doing something a little bit different and stand-out-ish with the space. The others, while all very nice (I love attic bedrooms and have one myself) seemed to be pretty predictable. Overall, I chose 2 level flat because it was the most unique in presentation and feel, and seemed to really go beyond the feeling of just another cool attic room.
Morgan Daniels Madaket... it was nostalgic for me. I felt it to be clean, open, and appeared to be roomy while it screamed to me - escape and feel peaceful. I would love to decorate it in a early 1900's style and hang pictures of my grandma and black & whites of loved ones. I LOVE IT.
Madison Modern Home While I've always been a huge Thom Filicia fan -- and I love his room -- I am really digging Repurposed Attic - Dyanne Wilson Photography for its color scheme, amazing details and sheer fun quotient. I want to be a kid again and sleep in one of those twin beds.
terriph Here is our tiny attic bedroom....at our shore home. With only a few simple decoration and a comfy bed but together it is so cozy and inviting...and we love spending time in it.
stepher79 Love the 2 Level Flat. I like the textures and the warmth brought in with the wood panel wall. The skylight is a nice bright addition (though it almost doesn't look real). It feels like a relaxing and comfortable space. The repurposed attic is also nice.
