Color Choice Question

I LOVE the colors in this bathroom. We are redoing our master bath and using tiles very similar in color. My questions is, should the painted walls match or be the walls in the bedroom? I love the monochromatic look with the paint being very close to the tile color, but the walls in my bedroom are a rich gold color, as are the drapes in the bedroom. Should the bathroom then be painted a gold color?

Be very cautious about bringing gold into this bathroom as it will fight with the definite pinky undertones of the tile. If you have not already bought the tile, please please reconsider and go with tile that has more ivory/gold instead. Check out Maria Killam's True Colour Expert blog for more advice on never accidentally using pinky beige.

If you already bought the tiles, bring a tile sample to a paint store and have them color match for you--the monochromatic look will work better in here than the gold because of the pink undertone that Cynthia noted. If you haven't bought the tile, try a tile like http://artistictile.com/ItemDetailsBySearch.aspx?Pid=926, http://artistictile.com/ItemDetailsBySearch.aspx?Pid=222 or http://artistictile.com/ItemDetailsBySearch.aspx?Pid=622.

I would advise treating the bath as an entirely separate space from the bedroom -
coordinate your paint shades with your tile selections and grout color.

I would suggest modifying the colours in your bedroom (if possible) so that both rooms relate to each other.
