Were these metal panels cut on one side on an automated torch table or laser table and is that what created the bluing along the one edge?

IF you are talking about the fire place. Those panels were cut with a laser. The bluing along the edge is a nature phenomenon that happens to the edge of hot rolled steel when the sheet is made. They are heat marks. The laser cutting generally does not produce heat marks.

can you give details on how you did the cable alongside the stair case? Did it meet code? How did you attache dit securely to the ceiling with the force it exercised? How far apart were the cables?

Five Twenty Two Industries, when you say you finish with several coats of clear satin, what kind of product is that? Does that product prevent rusting on in indoor fireplace like the one shown above?

For interior items we like DEFT clear satin. Out doors we powder coat.

Five Twenty Two Industries, Which DEFT product is best to use or does it even matter? The spray can of Deft clear wood finish or the liquid waterbased polyurethane?
