Hi! I have a newer traditional style colonial (with a modern circle top window over front door) home and unfortunately the builder didn't add an overhang or covered porch to shield guests. This is especially difficult during cold winter months with snow and ice. Our front door is close to the attached garage so it's challenging to figure out what sort of overhang would work without interfering with the garage roof/gutter. I thought this would be a simple solution without breaking our budget, but wonder if it's strong enough to withstand snow/ice, and can be made deeper (for more people to stand under) plus with a more pronounced curve to mimic the circle top window that would be above it? Thanks for reading!
