The wood will show distress. With wood countertops it is important to always put hot pots on trivets and cut only on cutting boards. This client selected the wood so that it would patina to compliment their French Country style. However, serious stains and marks can be erased with sanding. We used marble countertops around the oven and main sink for heavier use. It's color is Light Emperador Brown Marble. Good luck!
