French Doors - Gorgeous

Hi Thomas, I live in Santa Cruz and have a room: wood floors inside (den) and patio (pool facing) out. We're replacing our sliders with french doors. I see this open in. What is your thought of open-out??
In our dining room (similar to this) we have Open-in French doors (open to deck). But in our den (small area, door would hit bar counter if open-in), we'd like open-out. Thoughts? would California code allow that?

Outward swinging doors are permitted when the exterior landing is no more than 1/2" lower than the interior floor elevation. With inward swinging doors, you're allowed to step down up to 7-3/4" to the exterior landing. Check with your local building official for more details.
