What is the story behind the tub spout being in the shower? Do they wash their dog in there? Beautifull design! I love the herringbone pattern in the space!
Cynthia Taylor-Luce This is referred to as a "toe tester" which means you can set the temperature and feel it with your toe (!) before you blast the water from the shower head. It offers a little more versatility to the shower area.
The Mirror Gallery, Kitchen and Bathroom Showroom That is great idea! I have been having clients change the location of the plumbing so the would not get hit with cold water when they "step into" the shower and turn on the water. (in this type of set up) I will now talk to them about doing a "toe tester". This will be much more cost effective. Thank you again!!
Cynthia Taylor-Luce You're very welcome. This is something that's been included in showers, in this area at least, for a long long time. So glad that you inquired!
It's the same principle as what people do when they have a shower/bathtub combination. You run the water from the faucet until the temp is right, then you turn the diverter to switch the water to the shower head.
Cynthia Taylor-Luce Yes, Vikrant, they are. That said, there are a lot of showers that don't have them--but they're an extra touch that people appreciate. And people who are used to having them and move to a home that doesn't, are not happy. If you want to fill something with water, say a bucket for cleaning or a humidifier reservoir, etc. etc., it's impossible to do it at the sink, but you can do it with the toe tester (if it's not too terribly low) and stay dry while you do it! It's multi-purpose! :)
