Hi rjkc, the plants climbing up the pergola are, Morning Glories and Moon Flowers - which are like Morning Glories but they bloom at night. The plant in front with the large leaves is a Angel Trumpet.

The Angel Trumpet are now about 6' tall and very dramatic! We highly recommend the combination of these flowers for variety of leaf and bloom. Just weeks later they are on top of the pergola.

Just gorgeous! I love the whole house especially the backyard.

One question - love the vine growing and would love to do this with our new pergola - but was thinking about how to give it some earth to grow in without making it too intrusive to the space.

Is the pot just standing next to the post and the photo makes it look like the post is also 'growing' out of the pot? or is it truly 'surrounding' the post?
