Brand new appartement, need help with interior / wall covering

Hello people,

I am in desperate need of inspiration. My walls of the appartement need a color/wallpaper, whether its this white which i am content with. But i am decorating room by room.

Lets start by the living room/open kitchen. My kitchen cabinets are red, i have a IKEA kivik dansbo beige lounge sofa for the living room. Which colors paint should i put on the wall. And which color furniture would suit?

Second room: Bedroom, have a grey/black boxspring bed.

Please help me folks!

Hi, the red in the kitchen is a great starting point for the entire apartment. Consider a simple charcoal and white theme to compliment the red.

I like David's charcoal and red color scheme and will expand upon his thoughts with some of my own. I'd paint a large accent wall in the living area charcoal. The remainder of the walls in that area would be white, as would most other areas.

You can head back to Ikea for a black and white cowhide to put in front of your sofa. Add colorful art that includes some red or something like the black and white art shown below. I might be tempted to paint a single bathroom wall black, but hard to say without seeing the bathroom. T Eatons Living Room Hospital Home Lottery 2012

Great idea from Dutecture.

Love this tile design. Colors could be used in adjoining rooms: Kitchen, bath, office

Olive green would compliment the red, too: Boerum Hill House, Brooklyn

Try a pale turquoise with hits of black and red. The pale turquoise will keep the room light and the red and black would carry through the entire apartment. Linen draperies on the window/door wall (that when open do not block the window/door) in a graphic black and white pattern makes for a nice focal point when closed.

Love the view. love the red cabinets. How about a light grey shade on the walls. It would compliment the red cabinets. and add red accents in the living roon as suggested in some of the pictures sent to you. A shade of tan would look good with your cabinets and sofa also. Let us know!

For another little splash of red these postcards would look great in a powder room or office area.

To warm up a wall consider grasscloth, it has a nice texture and comes in a variety of colors.

The red Kitchen is great - I would continue that color into the living room. Black, white and red give a dramatic feel to a room. Your wall color could be the beige color of your sofa or do a red accent wall.
Good Luck!

looking good - now you just need to throw red into your living space - Some punch is needed either in your area rug, accent wall color, pillows or an art piece above the sofa.

Art above the sofa with red would be a great next touch!
