I can't decide what color to paint the exterior of the house. I am pretty conservative and would like classic color.
Thanks!

Please also check out doing black trim. It is great with this era house and works with all classic colors.

I'd go turquoise with teal garage doors and light blue trim! :D Lol but that's me. If I WASN'T aiming to make my neighbors' eyes bleed, I'd go with a light golden color and maybe rust colored doors and trim. Or maybe tan with chocolate accents :)

I agree with jck910. My first choice is a medium grey color with a blue or rust door and white trim. I would paint the garage doors in a lighter shade of grey.

What colors are inside the home as far as walls, furnishings, accessories etc. go? Warm or cool tones? You'll probably want to consider having the colors to flow somewhat harmoniously throughout the home and that should include the exterior.

Here's what a bi-level with gray siding, white trim and rust colored door (& shutters) looks like. You can see how the garage door stands out too much & the side entry door competes with the front door.

Our walls inside the house are cool tones with brown leather furniture and cherry cabinets with stainless steel appliances.

You have a great house that could really sing with the right paint scheme.

One option is very subtle: Whole House Green Two shades of greyed green and grey trim around the windows.

I could also see your house painted in blocks like this: Friedman or this Modern Lifestyle

This is a great green combination: Exterior

If you are conservative in your taste, but you live in a mid-century home, I would go with white and paint the door a rich, beautiful color, which, when opened into your house, goes well with your interior colors. Don't forget to paint the sidelights the same color as the door.

I think a very rich, warm grey would look great.

Nice choice! That may be the color I use on my cottage with maybe some dusty teal shutters.

What an awesome transformation! Great idea for the door, covered entry and new window over door. You picked good colors. Nice job, it is amazing what paint can do. Good update, it looks very current. :D
