Hello Andre,

Your kitchen is gorgeous, you have a great eye for design. I am doing an almost identical kitchen scheme, minus the Wolfe oven.. And we were originally planning to refinish the 100 year old floors, but due to the previous owners lack of care when she laid vinyl down over it. We are now planning on laying red oak and then staining it, can you guide me to a similar stain that is used here?

Sorry I cant remember the specifics about this floor, but I would recommend doing some tests or trials with different stains on the actual floor or wood to see what's works best for your project.

I also love your flooring and am in the midst of remodeling our kitchen. We are combining rustic alder and antique cabinetry with giallo fiorito granite along the perimeter and a mahogany wood countertop on the island. All appliances will be stainless steel wolf/subzero with a stainless steel farmhouse sink. I love the dark floors and have decided to use my own concoction of stains to accomplish my preferred look on unfinished red oak (very similar to yours). I am using 1 part Minwax red mahogany, 2 parts Minwax ebony, and 1 part rustoleum kona.

Thats a Quarter Sawn floor, not a flat sawn floor. Notice the tiger stripes all across the planks. Its absolutely beautiful!
