Making most of a tiny master closet
Mav HelvadOctober 2, 2012
Photo to follow. Our soon to be master closet is less than 4x4 feet and 8 feet tall. Any recommendations on how to make the most of this space. Maybe even steps to access the top and use every inch??

Check out "Easy Closet" online. They have a design your own on the web site or you can fax dimensions to them and they will design it for you. we have installed several of these and I love them. Much better than wire coated type. My way of using the height in our master closet was to use "double hanging on two walls for shorter items. My husband is tall, so he gets the top, I am short, I get the bottom. On the third wall, I did single hanging for longer items with shelves above for shoes and purses. It almost doubled my useable space.

There are pull down rods available from closet planners and surely available to the rest of us if we're willing to DIY and do some searching. Certainly the Container Store and Calif.Closets offer products to assist you. But I'd start with having the finish carpenter install 2 rods, 1 above the other and then shelves above.the rods. one to have installed by your Then you could call in the experts for the pulldown rod if you can't find one to have your finish carpenter install.

Yes, pull out or pull down rods will eliminate the need to 'walk-in' the closet and everything can be accessed from the closet door.
