What type of windows should I get for my house

I would like to get some Tuscany style fiberglass (looks like wood) windows with the grid on the outside of the glass. What color should the window be? Should it match the garage doors or would it be best to get a neutral color to match the house, like a beige? I'm thinking that trying to match the garage door might be too much. Need some advice!

If the windows could look like the wood garage doors (truly) that would get you away from the "white plastic" look. Wood casement windows with interior screens would greatly improve the exterior facade.

Thank you for the suggestion. Do you have any pictures to show? Also, I'm now thinking the glass should be plain (without grids) because I have white plantation shutters that show through the windows. I think the windows would look cluttered. Any comments, any other ideas on how to successfully complete the look of this house?

Aiming for a darker color (like the garage or even just a very dark brown) window with no grids would upgrade the look of this home by a large margin. Glad to hear that you're considering it! :)

The grilles are conductive with the style of the house. Your white blind in the main window is distracting. Changing it to a darker colour would be a inexpensive improvement. Inside screens are a must.

Lisalia, Thank you for your comment. About the garage doors, I hired a garage door company in San Diego and picked these from one of their catalogs. I want to say Carriage House is the manufacturer, but I'm not so sure.

The maker of the garage doors is Ranch House Doors.

I would go with trying to match the garage doors....I do think this will be a great addition to the look of your home. We build our new home with Italy in mind and I decided to add black doors and windows and I really like the look. the garage doors are also black. Good luck with your project. Carole
