what is a way to resolve this w/o taking out the shower..i was told there is a product that will go over the chrome. is it true does it work and does it look nice???

Sure there is way to resolve this without taking out the shower.........open up the back wall. Replace the valve assembly and any modifications to the supply lines as needed and slap on the new (bronze ) face trim.

If you are doing a remodel sometimes you can easily change the trims out. Post the chrome shower fixtures picture, or shoot us a email to sales@poshhaus.com

I am not sure I worded the questions correctly...The vanity has an antique bronze faucet, the shower frame is chrome & faucet. I was told by someone there is a paint that goes over chrome is this true?

marvd, I believe there is, but it's a spray paint. How far apart are the vanity and shower?

The room is the size of a small powder room. but does have a shower. across from the sink...the shower is small with the chrome frame

If it's that small, go with the chrome. Keep it consistant.

You should replace the ORB with chrome, plus any hardware on the vanity.

Bronze (Rubbed Oil Bronze) is a specific style or genre, and doesn't mix well with other metal colours especially in an entire design scheme.

Professionally,ROB is not a metal colour I design with because the tones vary so much from manufacturer to manufacturer. Being that I don't like inconsistency, I opt to avoid it. It also has a specific style attached to it, which is lovely when designed properly, but horrible when it isn't.

I'd keep the shower, vanity faucet, cabinetry hardware and walk-through door hardware all to chrome.

My dilemma also. These people were rough on you. I also don't have major cash to redo shower right now either.
