How should I paint this bedroom alcove??

Have yet to decide upon a color scheme for this bedroom. It will likely incorporate some deep charcoal and silver tones, dark auburn furniture, and plants in the sunny spot in the alcove.

How should we paint this room? Extend the slanted plane up to the ceiling? Or do we stop at the crease on the vertical plane (shortwall)? What about a contrasting or brighter or softer tone on the nook walls? WE NEED YOUR INSIGHT!

Please, and thank you!

Personally if I was doing an accent color I would paint everything that is part of the alcove including the ceiling.

If I were to add an accent color, it would probably be on the window wall perpendicular to the wall with the alcove. From the photo you posted, it seems like the white walls of the alcove have a very specific job: to make the room even brighter with the natural light reflecting/refracting off of them.

How about this...do the opposite of the pic dytecture posted...keep the alcove white and paint the rest of the room all the same in another complimentary color...ceilings and walls.
the only other idea I have would to put beaded board or wainscoating on either side of your opening, up half the wall. Just on that one wall.

It seems like a dark room that needs to have as much reflective light bouncing off the walls as possible so I still think that the only wall that should be painted an accent color would be the window wall perpendicular to the alcove wall. An accent color on that wall would also accentuate the architecture of the room, especially if the ceiling remained white.
