Need advice on bath tile new "look"
October 24, 2012 in Design Dilemma
I am looking at Lowe's Calacatta tile in an 8x12 bath. Would you use the new 12 x 24 long ways on the floor? For the 12 new glass shower area ( took out an old tub) would you suggest the 9 x 12 in a subway pattern for that area or stay with the 12 x 24 in there as well? Vertical up the walls or subway style across in that area? Thanks, Sandy

Hi Sandy, Did you decide which way to lay the tile yet? Would love to hear what you did. Any pics to share?

Hi Sandy , Definitely go with the tile longways as it will make the space feel larger. I assume you will be doing the floor tile in a subway pattern. I would do the 9 x 12 in a subway pattern in the shower unless your bathroom is really super modern and then you would stack the tile. Why dont you put a soap recess in your shower and perhaps introduce a decorative mosaic tile to give your shower a bit of interest. You can either do the mosaic on a full wall or just a stripe. See the pics attached.
