Accent wall color ideas.
I believe I matched the color of the walls in my living room with the Benjamin Moore paint 1124. I hope so anyway. Now, I'm having difficulty finding a color for the accent wall. From what I've read, the accent wall should be darker and probably of the same color group.

Is that correct? The living room is a larger room I guess, measuring 25 or 30' x 12 or 13 feet. I have a large brown couch that would be against the proposed accent wall and would like to room to maintain a casual atmosphere, nothing bold or too vibrant as my dad, being older, just wouldn't go for it.

Anyway, I would appreciate any and all advice in regards to color or anything else. Thanks again.

judyg Well, you could move down the color strip and just pick one of the darker shades. But your walls are already a statement, you are not happy with the room painted all one color? What if you leave them as is and accent the sofa with some great, colorful throw pillows and a large canvas over it.

spencer69 Thanks, I want to do just that. It's just that I'm having difficulty matching the color on my wall with the paint sample from Benjamin Moore. You see, I believe I purchased this paint from Sherwin-Williams and it was so long ago that I no longer have the paint can all record of the name of the color I choose.

Now, thanks, but I rather not do anything with fabric over the couch.
